Effective 2 Nov 2026Applies to the Nobo Android app & website
1. Who we are
Nobo ("Nobo", "the App") is owned and operated by Datong Apps Private Limited ("Datong", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Nobo mobile application, our website and related services (together, the "Services"), why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the Services you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use Nobo. You can reach our privacy team any time at info@noboapp.live.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details: mobile number (used for OTP login), username, display name, date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older), gender, preferred languages, interests, optional profile photo and bio.
- Content you create: live audio you speak in voice rooms and calls, text messages in room chat, comments, people you follow, rooms you create and their titles.
- Purchases: any subscriptions or premium features you buy through Google Play. We receive a purchase token and transaction ID; we do not receive or store your card or UPI details.
- Identity verification (room creators only): legal name, government ID details and a selfie, collected directly or through our verification partner, if you choose to create rooms.
- Support & reports: anything you send us when you contact support, report a user, or appeal a decision.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: device model, operating system, app version, language settings, unique device identifiers, advertising ID (where permitted), crash logs and diagnostics.
- Usage data: rooms joined, time spent, features used, people you follow, calls made (duration and participants, not the content).
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address or SIM country, used to show relevant rooms and languages and to comply with local laws. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Network data: IP address, connection type and timestamps.
2.3 Device permissions we ask for
| Permission | Why we need it | Required? |
| Microphone | To let you speak in rooms and calls. Only active while you are on mic. | Yes, for speaking |
| Notifications | To tell you when friends go live, you get a call, or someone follows you. | Optional |
| Camera / Photos | Only if you choose to add a profile photo or complete identity verification. | Optional |
| Contacts | Only if you choose to invite friends. Contacts are not uploaded without your explicit consent. | Optional |
2.4 Audio in rooms and calls
Live audio is streamed in real time. We do not keep full recordings of your calls or rooms by default. To keep the community safe, our automated systems may analyse audio in real time for abusive or unlawful content, and short audio clips may be temporarily retained when a user reports a room or call, or when our safety systems flag it, so that a human moderator can review it. Such clips are kept only as long as needed to complete the review and any resulting action, and then deleted.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, log you in via OTP and verify your age.
- To run the Services: connect you to rooms, calls and matches, and show you relevant rooms in your language.
- To process purchases and keep accounting and tax records.
- To keep Nobo safe: detect and act on abuse, fraud, spam, underage users and violations of our Community Guidelines.
- To improve the App: analytics, troubleshooting, testing new features.
- To communicate with you: service messages, security alerts, support replies and, with your consent, promotional notifications you can switch off any time.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests and enforce our terms.
4. Legal basis and consent
We process personal data in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), as applicable. We rely on your consent (given when you sign up and grant permissions), the need to perform our contract with you (providing the Services), our legitimate uses permitted by law (such as safety and fraud prevention), and legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 9; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out and may mean some features stop working.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- With other users: your username, display name, photo (if any), bio, languages, follower counts, verified badge and your voice when you are on mic. Your mobile number, email, date of birth, IP address and location are never shown to other users.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: cloud hosting, real-time audio infrastructure, OTP/SMS delivery, push notifications, analytics and crash reporting, content moderation tools, customer support tools and identity verification partners.
- Google Play to complete purchases.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, court order or government request; to protect the rights, property or safety of Datong, our users or the public; or to report child sexual abuse material or other serious crimes to the appropriate authorities.
- Business transfers: if Datong is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may be transferred, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain it longer to comply with legal obligations (for example, transaction and tax records, which Indian law may require us to retain for up to eight years), to resolve disputes, to enforce our terms, or to prevent banned users from returning. Moderation records relating to serious violations may be kept for as long as needed to keep the community safe.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, secure cloud infrastructure and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device locked and never share your OTP with anyone — Nobo staff will never ask for it.
8. International transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located in India and in other countries. Where data is transferred outside India, we do so in accordance with applicable law and with safeguards that protect your data to a standard consistent with this Policy.
9. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: view and edit your profile information in the App at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account, or email us. See our Account & Data Deletion page.
- Withdraw consent: revoke device permissions in your phone settings, turn off promotional notifications in the App, or email us.
- Nomination: under the DPDP Act you may nominate a person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity by writing to us.
- Grievance: raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 13).
To exercise any right, email info@noboapp.live from the mobile number or email linked to your account. We may ask you to verify your identity first.
10. Children
Nobo is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor we delete it and the associated data promptly. If you believe a minor is using Nobo, please email us with the subject line "Underage user". See also our Child Safety Standards.
11. Third-party links and services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Purchases made through Google Play are also governed by Google's privacy policy.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material we will notify you in the App or by other means before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when it was last revised. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
13. Grievance Officer and contact
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you may contact our Grievance Officer for any concerns about this Policy or your data:

By creating an account, downloading or using Nobo you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Refund & Cancellation Policy, all of which are incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use Nobo.
This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder and does not require any physical or digital signature.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 (or the law of your country).
- You must not have been previously banned from Nobo.
- You must not be barred from using the Services under any applicable law.
We may ask for proof of age at any time and may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe belong to minors.

- One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts, share accounts, or transfer your account to anyone.
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Impersonating anyone or misrepresenting your identity, age or gender is prohibited.
- Tell us immediately at info@noboapp.live if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. What Nobo is (and isn't)
Nobo is a social audio app that lets adults join live voice rooms, make voice calls, get matched with others for conversation, and follow people they like. Nobo is not a dating, matrimonial, escort, counselling or emergency service. We do not screen users beyond the checks described in our policies, do not guarantee that any person is who they say they are, and do not promise any match, meeting, friendship or relationship. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, online and offline. Use common sense and never share money, OTPs, bank details or personal documents with anyone you meet on Nobo.
5. Purchases and premium features
- Nobo is free to use. We may offer optional subscriptions or premium features, purchased through Google Play. Prices are displayed in the App and may change; taxes may apply. Billing is handled by Google Play.
- Premium features are a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use a feature of the App. They are not property, have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.
- Purchases are final except as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy or as required by law.
- We may modify, limit or discontinue any premium feature at any time with reasonable notice.
6. Creating rooms
Users who complete identity verification may create and run their own rooms. Room creators are responsible for moderating their rooms in line with the Community Guidelines, and we may remove the ability to create rooms from anyone who fails to do so.
7. Your content
- You retain ownership of the content you create (your voice, messages, photos, room names). By posting or speaking on Nobo you grant Datong a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, transmit, display, reproduce and moderate that content for the purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Services.
- You confirm you have all rights needed to share your content and that it does not violate anyone's rights or these Terms.
- We may, but are not obliged to, review, remove or restrict any content or room at our discretion, including through automated systems.
- Do not record, screen-record, transcribe or redistribute other users' voices or conversations without their consent.
8. Rules of conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In addition you must not:
- Use Nobo for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it;
- Post or share content that is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, gambling or illegal activity;
- Solicit money, loans, or personal/financial information from other users; or run any scam, pyramid scheme or fraud;
- Advertise, spam, or promote other apps, services or products without our written permission;
- Use bots, scripts, emulators or automated means to access the Services, inflate room counts or manipulate rankings;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or data from the App;
- Interfere with the security or operation of the Services, or access another user's account;
- Threaten the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India, or public order.
9. Intellectual property
Nobo, its name, logo, design, software, artwork and all related intellectual property are owned by Datong or its licensors and are protected by Indian and international law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on your device for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Services.
10. Third-party services
The Services depend on third-party platforms such as Google Play, telecom operators and cloud providers. Your use of those services is subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, content or websites linked from Nobo.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Nobo and delete your account at any time (see Account & Data Deletion). We may warn, mute, restrict, suspend or permanently ban your account, remove content, revoke room-creation privileges, and take legal action if you breach these Terms, our policies, or the law, or if we are required to do so by a competent authority. We may also discontinue the Services or any feature at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 5, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14 and 15) will survive.
12. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Datong disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not endorse, verify or guarantee any user, user content or any advice, opinion or statement made by users on Nobo.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Datong and its directors, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits, data, goodwill or reputation, or for any conduct of other users, arising out of or in connection with the Services. Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) INR 1,000. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Datong and its affiliates, officers, employees and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or any law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India. Before starting any legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at info@noboapp.live and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the App or by other reasonable means. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. These Terms, together with the policies referenced here, are the entire agreement between you and Datong regarding the Services.

Effective 2 Nov 2026Subscriptions & premium features
1. How purchases work
All in-app purchases on Nobo (subscriptions and premium features) are made through Google Play. Datong Apps Private Limited does not collect your card, UPI or bank details. Billing, receipts and payment disputes are handled by Google Play, under its terms, in addition to this Policy.
2. Purchases are final
Premium features are digital items delivered instantly to your account. All purchases are final and non-refundable once the feature has been activated, except in the situations listed in Section 3 or where a refund is required by applicable law or Google Play's policies.
- Premium features have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred or sold.
- Changing your mind after activation is not a ground for refund.
3. When we will help with a refund
Contact us within 7 days of the transaction at info@noboapp.live with your username, the store receipt or order ID, and a description of the issue, if:
- The feature was not activated after a successful payment (we will first try to activate it; if that is not possible we will support a refund through Google Play);
- You were charged more than once for the same purchase;
- The purchase was unauthorised (for example, made by someone else using your device). You should also report this to Google Play immediately and secure your device and account;
- A technical fault on our side prevented you from using what you paid for.
Refunds, where approved, are issued by Google Play to the original payment method and follow Google Play's timelines (typically 5–10 business days). Datong may, entirely at its discretion, issue goodwill refunds or credits in other cases.
4. Subscriptions
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel any time through Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partially used subscription periods, except where required by law.
5. Chargebacks and abuse
If you raise a chargeback or Google Play refund for a feature you have already used, we may deactivate the feature, restrict purchases or suspend your account. Repeated refund abuse may lead to a permanent ban.
6. Account termination
If your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines, any active premium features are forfeited and no refund is due. If you voluntarily delete your account, remaining premium time is also forfeited.
7. Contact
Email info@noboapp.live with the subject "Refund" and we will respond within 48 hours on business days.
Effective 2 Nov 2026Zero tolerance
Nobo is an 18+ app. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any sexualisation of minors. This page describes our published standards against CSAE, our reporting process and our designated point of contact.
1. Our standards
- We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits or endangers a minor, including CSAM, sexual conversation with or about minors, grooming, soliciting sexual content from minors, sextortion, trafficking, and sharing or requesting links to such material anywhere on Nobo.
- We prohibit minors from using Nobo at all. Age is declared at sign-up, and we use behavioural, voice and reporting signals to identify suspected underage accounts, which are removed.
- These standards apply to all users, room creators, employees, contractors and partners.
2. Prevention and detection
- Mandatory 18+ declaration and date of birth at sign-up; identity verification for everyone who creates rooms.
- Automated moderation that flags sexual content, abusive language and keywords associated with CSAE for human review.
- Trained moderators available 24×7 who prioritise child-safety reports above all other queues.
- Restrictions on sharing links and contact details in public rooms to limit off-platform grooming.
3. How to report
- In the App: open the profile, room or message → tap ⋯ → Report → "Child safety". These reports are escalated immediately.
- By email: info@noboapp.live with the subject line "Child Safety". Please include usernames, room names, date/time and any relevant details. Do not forward illegal images or recordings — describe them instead.
- To authorities: in India, report to your local police, dial the Childline helpline 1098, or use the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in). In an emergency, call 112.
4. What we do when we receive a report
- Review child-safety reports on a priority basis, typically within hours.
- Immediately remove violating content, permanently ban the responsible accounts, and block the associated devices.
- Preserve relevant evidence as required by law and report confirmed CSAM and CSAE to the appropriate authorities, including Indian law enforcement and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in line with our obligations under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and related rules.
- Cooperate fully with lawful requests from law enforcement.
5. Compliance
We comply with applicable child-safety laws and with the child safety requirements of the Google Play developer policies. We review these standards at least annually and whenever the law or our product changes.
